Consistent Support Every Week
Building Lasting Relationships
What is Smiley Sundays?
Smiley Sundays is more than just a weekly gathering—it's a commitment to showing up for children who need it most. Every Sunday, we create a safe, joyful space where kids experiencing instability can count on consistency, connection, and care.
Through themed activities, meaningful conversations, and reliable presence, we build relationships that remind children they're valued, supported, and never alone in their journey.
DECEMBER THEME
Stories of Strength and Gratitude
This month, we explore powerful stories of resilience and gratitude. Through shared experiences and creative activities, we help kids discover their own strength and the power of being thankful.

Every Sunday, we gather to create a space where kids can be themselves, share stories, and build lasting friendships.
Reasons To Smile
More than a meeting — Smiley Sundays is a network of programs designed to build resilience, spark creativity, and give every child a trusted support system.
Buddy Bridge Mentorship Program
High schoolers act as consistent 'buddies' for elementary students affected by parental addiction. Activities include reading together, crafts, outdoor play, and journaling.
Creative Healing Project
Art, writing, or music workshops that help children express feelings they can't safely verbalize. Themes like 'Stories of Strength' or 'Drawing What Makes Me Feel Safe' guide sessions.
Safe Spaces Literacy Program
Reading groups that combine literacy with emotional development. Choose books that teach empathy, courage, and resilience, followed by discussion or drawing sessions.
Resilience Toolkit Initiative
Develop and distribute age-appropriate 'Resilience Toolkits' that teach coping skills like breathing exercises, emotion charts, and calming tools.
Family Futures Awareness Campaign
A community awareness effort to destigmatize addiction and highlight children's needs through posters, short videos, and school talks in collaboration with local recovery groups.
Meet Chace
Chace Friedman is a high school sophomore and the founder of Smiley Sundays, a student-led program that provides mentorship, reading, and emotional support for children affected by addiction.
Chace was inspired to start Smiley Sundays after growing up with a parent who struggled with alcoholism. He understands firsthand how unpredictable and isolating that experience can be for a child — and how important it is to have something reliable to look forward to each week.
With the help of his mom and close friends, Chace found the stability, encouragement, and love he needed to thrive.
